Watercolor Workshop in Halawa Valley with Artist, Kalani Pruet

The Molokai Arts Center (MAC) returns to Halawa Valley for an afternoon of watercolors and fresh smoothies inspired by Molokai’s natural bounty. Come learn Landscape/Floral Watercolor This class will be offered every third Sunday of the month and the next class will be on Sunday, September 18, from 11am-2pm.

Local artist Kalani Pruet, who prefers on-location nature observation and color mixing, will teach a 3-hour class right in his back yard. The class includes a smoothie and a painting demonstration. Kalani will share fundamental watercolor techniques such as landscape sketching, silhouette and outline drawing, watercolor tiling and blending or layering methods. Cost is $30 non-member, $24 annual member/affiliate. All painting materials are provided and each participant will take their piece of art home with them. Don’t hesitate to register as the class size is limited to 10 students. This class will be offered every third Sunday of the month.

Kalani Pruet received a BA in Art at UH Mānoa, is a past member of the Lahaina Art Society and Oahu Watercolor Society, and a current member of the MAC. He is a watercolor enthusiast specializing in Landscape painting and a full time resident of Halawa Valley. He spends much of his time maintaining Halawa Tropical Flower Farm, harvesting and selling tropical flowers, bananas, and roots.
