 Soup ‘R Bowl

Saturday March 7th, 2020

5pm-7:30pm

Molokai Community Health Center

It’s time for the Molokai Arts Center’s much anticipated annual fundraiser. The 10th Annual Soup ‘R Bowl will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 5pm-7:30pm at the Molokai Community Health Center.

Every year, those in the know line up early. Bob Underwood’s Molokai Instrumental Music students will perform on the lawn before doors open at 5pm. Patron members and VIP sponsors will have early entry at 4:30pm.

Your ticket will allow you to select a ceramic bowl handcrafted by Molokai artisans and savor a specialty soup (choice of Fiesta Chicken, Portuguese Bean, Silky Pumpkin Coconut, Smoky Seafood or Thom Kha Gai) served with salad (ingredients grown locally), Molokai bread, dessert, and locally grown and brewed tea. Other drinks including Da Coffee House selections will be available for purchase.

The Silent Auction features art pieces in different media from local and visiting artists. A 2019 MAC Artist in Residence, Jamie Allen created an original mixed media piece specifically for this fundraiser. Dewitt Jones has donated two lovely prints of the Molokai night skies (they are 16 x 20 prints). Browse and bid on the many Silent Auction items, select a soup, find a table and sit back while Molokai Middle School’s Hawaiian Language Immersion students, the Hamakua-Napolean sisters, and Norman DeCosta treat you to music and hula under the banyan tree.

Tickets are $36 non-member/$29 member/$21 keiki under 12. Please note that the ticket prices reflected here are for online sales only which includes a special handling fee. Want to avoid the handling fee? You can purchase your tickets at the Molokai Arts Center and at Take’s Variety Store, Kalele Bookstore, All Things Molokai, and Rawlins Service (Texaco Gas).

New this year are VIP Sponsor tables that also allows for an early entry of 4:30pm (VIP Sponsors are reserved tables of front row seating of 8 persons to a table at $500). To reserve a VIP table or to find out more email us at molokaiartscenter@gmail.com

You can also visit the MAC Facebook page for more information on future workshops, classes, and membership options.

Proceeds benefit Molokai Arts Center, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit arts education organization. Your support and donations help us to keep our doors open in order to offer as many art programs as possible. You can find out more about the all the programs we offered in 2019 here.

Bowls in the image featured are some of the 100 turquoise bowls that MAC member, Kim Markham has made for this fundraiser. Many of our MAC members spends lots of time in making bowls for this annual event. Truly a community affair and a labor of love! It DOES take a ‘village’ for this art organization to be what it is today-we have so much to be grateful for. Mahalo nui loa!
